Survivor

August 22, 2015

We’ve been occupied with living life for a few weeks, so painting has slowed down. Here’s one from the back room:

Survivor, 16×20, gouache

This gouache painting is one from a few years ago. From a shot out in West Texas, where the landscape is filled with these twisted old survivors. It’s available at a greatly reduced price of $300 unframed. Email me at ralphparkerstudio@yahoo.com

    Hi Ralph,
Hope you and Nell are doing well. Bob and I are good, and still in our beautiful little neighborhood. Some people have come and gone, but many remain. Our home values have skyrocketed! It is due to Toyota and State Farm, and the Cowboys relocating to our general area!
Good news if you are selling! They actually have bidding wars on our villas! Selling for more than asking price! It is crazy!

Love your “Survivor”! Beautiful! Your details makes one wonder how many different storms that tree has withstood. The twisted trunks & roots attest to a hard but tenacious existence, with victory in its grasp! It is so like our lives, when we are weathering our own storms. Will we be like that tree and survive?…
    We must!!

Hi Margaret! So glad to hear about the property values you guys are experiencing. That great news. Good for you! I really appreciate your comments about “Survivor”. I may use that. That pretty much sums up what I felt while painting it. You two take care, and tell Bob hello for me.
