One of the things I’ve been looking forward to is the chance to paint some working shrimpers and lobster boats while we’re in Rockport, Texas.  This is from a reference photo taken at the dock behind a local restaurant.  “Rookie” is the name of the boat.

We found this boat sitting alone at a dock behind a bait shop.  It was obviously a working boat, but it wasn’t until later that I realized there was no name on the side.  Maybe it’s on the stern.  Every one of these boats appears to be a little different, either in terms of the shape or the equipment.

There is an abundance of new material here, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do with it.
