The Barn at Martin’s Corner

July 26, 2012

The Barn at Martin’s Corner, 9×12, Gouache

This old stone barn was on a back road near the RV park we stayed at near Coatesville, Pennsylvania.  That was our base for the visit to Chadds Ford.  We passed this place several times, and I took several reference photos.  The stone work on the barn worked best when I didn’t fuss over it too much.  Click on the image for a slightly larger version.

Looks great. The stone work really has a nice texture and is a warm contrast to the simpler, softer forms in the sky.
