Finding The Groove

Untitled, 8x10, Gouache

Trying to get back into some sort of groove.  Yesterday’s effort (top) was the first serious attempt at painting in a while.  Getting the house sold, getting rid of the last items of furniture, moving the remainder into the motorhome, then moving the motorhome into an RV Park, all took my focus away from painting.  But now that we’re settled for the winter, I’m trying to get a little bit of my touch back.

I finished up the top one this morning, then worked on the second one today as well.  They are both from photographs taken while out in the car on a very wet, dreary day.

Both brilliant Ralph. I hope you both will be completely settled in soon.
    All the best.
    Vic.

Thanks, Vic. There’s a lot that’s new, and taking some time to learn, but we only moved two weeks ago, so I think we’re settling in pretty well.

    Ralph,
Good to see you getting back into the grove, not always so easy.

I like both. I like the composition of the second and it really looks cold and wet.

Thanks, William. They have a sketchy quality that I kind of like. Totally accidental. A little less focus on “finish”, maybe, and more on “just painting”
