Places In My Mind

September 21, 2011

Untitled, 3 1/2 x 5, Gouache

Here are a few little “places in my mind”, landscapes conjured up out of my head, with a nod to gouache guru, Erik Tiemens.  These are all pretty small, done fast, with no pencil sketches.  Just jumping right in and spreading paint, with a simple palette of yellow ochre, burnt umber, burnt sienna, ultramarine blue and titanium white.  Fun stuff.

Ralph… these are awsome – I would like to buy the third one – if for sale.
The bright blue sky and white roofed barns.

Your fellow houston heights market artist.

Lovely work Ralph. I can see the Tiemens influence.
