A great thought…

May 20, 2010

I found this quote on Jan Olsen’s blog “Observe Closely”.  There is so much truth to it, and I need to remember it.

“It is better to paint for one minute a day than to think about it for 24 hours a day; one learns more in that one minute of painting than in thinking about it for 24 hours.”

There’s always the discovery of a new color combination, a different brush stroke, a new paint consistency… I’ve had paintings take a completely different direction because of a simple moment of experimentation.
