Revamped blog/website

February 27, 2010

After a few days of intense work, the blog has been reworked to become both blog and website. With the loss of my website provider/online gallery, and with the first art festival of the season coming next weekend, I really had to get this done. Now I can do new business cards with the single web address on them, and get back to the show preparations. Hopefully this site works now, both for sharing blog posts and for showcasing the work in some kind of organized, interesting manner.

Now to start getting new work framed, and doing all those little things that are necessary. The studio is a wreck, as it usually is the last few days before a show. I can’t paint at the moment, because I find it hard to focus when all this stuff starts creeping at me from the walls (see below). So now I’ll organize things, try to get some sort of assembly line process set up, and get down to the work part of the art festival life.

We’re starting to get pumped up. Next weekend is the First Saturday Arts Market in Houston, followed in two weeks by the Azalea Trails show in Tyler. Then it’s back to Houston on April 3rd, and one week later to a new show in Fulshear, Texas (near Houston). Lots to do…

Here’s all the stuff waiting for me…

    Ralph,
I wish my studio was as clean as yours is. Best wishes at the shows! It must be nice to be participating in so many.

Donald, we were fortunate to find the monthly show in Houston. It’s a good show, organized by Mitch Cohen. He’s an artist himself, so he does a really good job making things work. The only negative about it is it’s a five hour drive one way. We’d love to find something similar in the Dallas area.

I’ve got a bro-in-law that lives in Tomball, Tx. I can’t believe that Dallas doesn’t have something / some place similar. You could always start one.
