Riverbank

One of the first original paintings I remember seeing as a kid was a landscape done by Texas painter Travis Keese. He was the uncle of one of my boyhood friends, and the painting was a river bank scene, I’m guessing from somewhere along the Guadalupe River. I don’t remember the exact image, but it had grass and trees and dirt and water… all the necessary ingredients. As a teenager, I recall wishing I could paint like that. When I started painting, that memory came back to life. This in no way comes up to the level of that painting, but it was kind of fun to think about it while I was doing this.   I may tweak a few things after the paint cures a bit.  From a photo taken on a weekend in Arkansas last summer…
